Did you know that Google is the most popular online email service with over 1.8 billion registered accounts worldwide? With such a huge number, it currently holds 43% of the email service market share. For OSINT enthusiasts, it equals a lot of useful data. In this article we will show you what you can get out of a simple Gmail account.

To get started, let’s look at what kind of queries Lampyre has with respect to Google accounts:

If we know an email address, we can use Google account by email to get a Google ID and basic account information. The results may also contain сredentials, Google Maps profile link, Google Album Archive profile link, userpic and its link. Here’s an example of a table with search results:

Perfect! We’ve got a Google ID linked to this email! Now we will use it in our further investigation. Now we will show you another cool feature. If you build a graph, you can actually run queries from there by right-clicking on its part and checking off queries that you need:

Here Lampyre offers queries associated with user’s avatar in Google as well as their Google ID. We choose those based on ID and hit Run. And here are our results:

Google account tables show same result as per screenshot above from Google account by email request. Google account statistics table looks like this and shows user’s activity on various services:

For Visited places in Google Maps we will get this table:

But that’s not all! As we see, each location has its coordinates, so we can put them all on the map:

Here are the three locations from above pointed as Google Maps logos:

Here’s a useful trick for you, in case there are many locations in your search results: you can put a table under your map, and when you select a row, its location will be highlighted on the map with a red square:

It is also possible to collect details about Google Maps Photos (if user added any). To do this, we run a query called Google Maps photos by ID, and we eventually get the following table:

This collects all possible data on each photo, such as name, location, date created and photo thumbnail.

Soon we will be publishing an article on Pinterest. It is one of numerous services where you can sign up using Google account, so this will give some breadcrumbs for deeper investigations.

So, this story covers another feature that Lampyre can offer. Try it yourself and tell us about your experience — we are always hoping to get your feedback!

P.S.: We hope to add another Google query soon which will extract events from user’s calendar provided that it is publicly available, so please stay tuned!
